Spectacled Flying-fox

Binomial name: Pteropus conspicillatus
Visual description: Dark fur with distinctive pale yellow eye-rings, with a compact build and rounded features.
Measurements: Wingspan: ~1 m; Body mass: ~800 g
Distribution: Northeastern Queensland, Australia and Papua New Guinea; also found on offshore islands including Woodlark, Alcester, and Kiriwina
Roosting habits: Rainforest trees, often near water
Diet: Rainforest fruits, nectar, pollen
Threats: Habitat loss, heat stress, tick paralysis, human–wildlife conflict
Conservation status: EPBC Act: Endangered; IUCN: Endangered
